Member of Technical Staff

Overview:

G42 Americas is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director, Operations & Maintenance to lead the strategy, operations, reliability, and maintenance of its growing cloud, AI, and data center infrastructure portfolio. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, this role will be responsible for ensuring world-class operational performance across data center facilities, AI/GPU infrastructure, cloud operations, security, compliance, commissioning, and service reliability.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in hyperscale cloud and data center operations, having led large-scale global infrastructure environments supporting mission-critical workloads. This role will play a key leadership position in scaling G42 Americas' AI infrastructure footprint while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence, availability, security, and efficiency

Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership

• Lead end-to-end operations and maintenance of G42 Americas' cloud, AI, and data center infrastructure.
• Develop and execute operational strategies to support business growth, service reliability, and infrastructure scalability.
• Establish operational governance, performance standards, and service excellence frameworks across the organization.
• Drive operational readiness for new facilities, AI clusters, and cloud infrastructure deployments.

Data Center & Infrastructure Operations

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of hyperscale data center environments, including AI/GPU clusters and critical infrastructure systems.
• Ensure optimal performance, availability, capacity utilization, and resilience across all facilities.
• Lead data center commissioning, operational acceptance, and transition processes for new sites and expansions.
• Manage critical incident response, root cause analysis, and service restoration activities.

AI & GPU Infrastructure

• Support the operations and lifecycle management of large-scale AI infrastructure platforms.
• Drive operational best practices for high-performance computing (HPC), GPU clusters, and next-generation AI workloads.
• Partner with engineering and platform teams to ensure infrastructure availability and service reliability.

Security, Compliance & Risk Management

• Establish and maintain robust operational security and compliance programs.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal governance frameworks.
• Lead risk mitigation initiatives, business continuity planning, disaster recovery preparedness, and operational resilience programs.
• Collaborate closely with cyber security and compliance teams to maintain a secure operating environment.

Global Service Delivery

• Lead geographically distributed operational teams supporting multiple regions and time zones.
• Build and scale high-performing operations, , facilities, and support organizations.
• Drive KPI accountability across service availability, incident management, maintenance performance, energy efficiency, and customer experience.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Champion operational excellence through automation, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement best practices derived from hyperscale cloud and data center environments.
• Leverage metrics, analytics, and operational insights to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational discipline.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on infrastructure operations, capacity planning, and operational risks.
• Partner with engineering, product, security, procurement, facilities, and external vendors to deliver operational objectives.
• Provide regular executive-level reporting on operational health, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 20+ years of experience in data center operations, cloud infrastructure, operations management, or related technology leadership roles.
• Proven leadership experience within hyperscale technology organizations.
• Demonstrated success managing global data center and cloud operations environments.
• Experience supporting AI infrastructure, GPU-based platforms, HPC environments, or large-scale compute operations.
• Strong background in operations, reliability engineering, maintenance, commissioning, security, and compliance.
• Experience building and leading distributed global teams.
