We are looking for a forward-thinking and hands-on Data Platform Engineer to take ownership of our central data platform and play a key role in shaping the future of data infrastructure across the organization. This is a brand-new role, offering the opportunity to help build the team and capability from the ground up.
The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines from various source systems into the central platform. Working within the Data & Analytics team, you will ensure robust, secure, and high-performing data infrastructure is in place to support the organization’s data needs—now and into the future. This includes supporting project teams across the business, and help embed best practices for data ingestion, processing, and governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain a modern, scalable, and secure data platform in Azure to support enterprise-wide data initiatives.
  • Develop and manage data pipelines and integration workflows using Azure-native tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, and Fabric.
  • Partner with Data Architects, Analysts, and business stakeholders to ingest and organize data from various systems including ERP, CRM, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Lead or contribute to the implementation of data classification, ensuring sensitive data is identified and managed in line with policies.
  • Collaborate with project teams across the business to enable data capabilities, offering guidance on platform usage and enforcing engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to the governance and security of data assets, ensuring compliance with data protection standards and policies.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability and scalability of data infrastructure.
  • Help build the data engineering capability, including tooling, documentation, and onboarding of future team members.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years' experience in data engineering or platform engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data technologies, including but not limited to:
    o    Azure Data Factory
    o    Azure Synapse Analytics
    o    Azure Data Lake Storage
    o    Azure SQL
    o    Microsoft Fabric (or experience with comparable platforms)
  •  Proven experience in building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines, data integrations, and real-time/streaming data processing.
  • Familiarity with data classification, governance, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in data scripting languages such as SQL, Python, or PySpark.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-
  • Exposure to modern DevOps/DataOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
  • Understanding of data modeling and metadata management.
  • Experience working in an Agile or cross-functional product team environment.
