Overview:

Job Purpose

The role of the Systems Integration (SI) Manager is to lead/manage design, procurement, installation, testing and acceptance tasks to deliver SATCOM and LoS project requirements. The ideal candidate will specialize in the design, integration, testing, and installation of satellite ground terminals and associated subsystems. This role requires hands-on experience with RF systems, SATCOM hardware, and systems integration, as well as the ability to work in field deployment environments.


Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Design and Integration
    • Manage the integration of SATCOM systems including RF chains, modems, baseband equipment, and power systems.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement end-to-end satellite communication solutions.
    • Manage system architecture development, component selection, and interface design.
    • Produce engineering documentation such as design drawings and documentation to support system development, integration, and installation activities.
    • Apply quality control principles to ensure integration complies with relevant the required international and local safety standards and technical specifications.
    • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of VSAT ground terminals including fixed and, on the move (SOTM) vehicular, airborne and maritime terminals.
  • Manage Testing & Validation
    • Compile verification, validation and qualification test plans for SATCOM system performance including link budget analysis, antenna characteristics validation and tracking performance.
    • Manage test campaigns to assess and qualify vendor systems against international and company standards
    • Use test equipment such as spectrum analysers, signal generators, network analysers, and RF power meters.
    • Produce analysis and reports based on outputs of VVQI test campaigns. Construct use-case-driven proof of concept scenarios aligned to customer requirements to showcase system capabilities
  • Project Delivery Management
    • Manage project delivery through detailed scheduling, risk identification, and technical reporting.
    • Manage procurement plans in line with project schedule and budget during the full procurement lifecycle from assessing candidate supplier solutions, subcontracted supplier design and development activities and sub-system delivery and acceptance.
    • Interface with clients and partners during design reviews, factory/site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), and post-installation support.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of hands-on experience in satellite communications systems, with a focus on ground segment integration and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of RF and IP networking principles.
  • Strong knowledge of satellite modems (e.g., iDirect, UHP, Newtec. Comtech), up/down converters, HPA/BUC/LNBs, and antenna control units.
  • Knowledge of standards such as DVB-S2X, MIL-STD, ETSI and ITU.
  • Proven experience conducting RF validation and verification testing, including compiling VVQI test plans and analysis of test results.
  • Strong knowledge of Satellite Communications Engineering theory including RF and IP networking principles, link design and analysis in C, Ku and Ka frequency bands
  • Ability to produce engineering documentation including manuals, drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical, detail-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel to customer or remote sites for installation and verification activities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in military or government SATCOM programs.
  • Certifications such as GVF, CCNA, or PMP/Prince2.
