Role Purpose
As the Manager - Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS), you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining Space42's enterprise-wide Business Continuity Management System in alignment with ISO 22301, enterprise risk management principles, internal control expectations, and relevant regulatory requirements.

You will ensure the organization's ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents by developing robust continuity strategies, conducting business impact analyses, facilitating risk assessments, coordinating crisis management activities, and driving organizational resilience. The role requires close integration of continuity planning with enterprise risk management, control effectiveness, audit and assurance requirements, and leadership reporting to safeguard critical processes, assets, and services.

 

Responsibilities:

BCMS Framework Development & Governance
Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Business Continuity Management System in accordance with ISO 22301 and industry best practices. Establish BCMS policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk management, internal control, and governance requirements across all business units. Coordinate periodic reviews and updates to the BCMS framework to reflect organizational changes, emerging risks, and regulatory requirements.

 

Business Impact Analysis (BIA) & Risk Assessment
Lead and facilitate enterprise-wide BIAs to identify critical processes, dependencies, recovery objectives, and potential vulnerabilities. Conduct and facilitate risk assessments related to operational disruptions, technology failures, third-party dependencies, supply chain risks, and external threats, ensuring alignment with the organization's broader risk management framework. Recommend mitigation strategies and continuity solutions based on assessment outcomes.

 

Business Continuity & Recovery Planning
Develop, maintain, and test business continuity plans (BCPs), disaster recovery plans (DRPs), and crisis management procedures. Ensure recovery strategies are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational priorities. Coordinate with IT, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment between BCPs and technology recovery capabilities.

 

Testing, Training & Awareness
Develop and manage the annual BCMS exercise programme, including tabletop simulations, scenario-based drills, crisis management exercises, and full-scale recovery tests. Evaluate exercise and test results, document lessons learned, identify control and preparedness gaps, and oversee corrective action plans through to closure. Deliver training and awareness programs to enhance organizational readiness and resilience culture.

 

Incident Response & Crisis Management
Serve as a key member of the Crisis Management Team (CMT) and support real-time incident coordination. Maintain crisis communication protocols and ensure timely escalation and reporting during disruptions. Document incident learnings and integrate improvements into the BCMS.

 

Compliance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Ensure compliance with ISO 22301, UAE regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards. Prepare BCMS performance reports for senior management, audit committees, and regulatory bodies. Identify opportunities to enhance resilience, strengthen continuity controls, streamline processes, and improve organizational preparedness through remediation follow-up and continuous improvement initiatives. Support internal and external assurance activities by preparing evidence, coordinating reviews, responding to findings, tracking remediation actions, and reporting closure progress to management.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with internal stakeholders across risk, internal audit, operations, IT, HR, facilities, and security to ensure BCMS integration and alignment with organizational resilience priorities. Engage external partners, auditors, and regulators to support BCMS assessments and certifications. Act as the primary point of contact for BCMS-related audits and external reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Auditor, DRII (ABCP/CFCP), or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in business continuity, resilience, risk management, internal audit, assurance, or crisis management, preferably within complex or technology-driven organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 22301, crisis management frameworks, operational resilience principles, enterprise risk management, and risk and control concepts.
  • Experience conducting BIAs, developing continuity plans, leading BCMS exercises, and supporting internal audit, assurance, or control testing activities is strongly preferred.
  • A professional background in risk management, internal audit, or assurance will be considered a strong advantage for this role.
  • Familiarity with IT disaster recovery, cybersecurity resilience, and enterprise risk management.
  • Experience working in the UAE or Middle East region is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and BCMS or GRC platforms.
