Legal Associate
Overview:
In your role as Legal Associate, you will manage a wide range of legal matters on behalf of Space42, including contract review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection, privacy and data protection, dispute resolution, as well as providing legal advice and support to internal stakeholders.
Your role will help mitigate legal risks, support commercial decision-making, and contribute to the company’s growth in the AI-powered space technology sector.
Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, solution-driven, commercially focused and risk-weighted advice in the best interests of the company.
- Review, draft and negotiate a diverse range of contracts, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Advise internal clients on the appropriate interpretation of contractual rights and obligations under existing agreements and obligations under laws and regulations
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide accurate and timely advice on legal issues affecting the company's operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with geospatial and mobility solutions, satellite communications, and business intelligence.
- Contribute to developing and executing the company's overall legal strategy, in line with Space42’s larger business objectives while mitigating any legal risks.
- Support the creation and implementation of legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance across the organization.
- Maintain and update contract templates, legal databases, and other legal documentation.
- Support the legal team in managing litigation, disputes, and regulatory matters, as necessary.
- Help ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, such as data protection, privacy, cybersecurity requirements, and other government.
- Work closely with project managers and business leaders to identify and address legal issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and deliver legal training to educate employees on legal and compliance matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 4 years PQE.
- Expertise in contract law and corporate law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to provide strategic legal solutions.
