ROLE PURPOSE

Execute end-to-end FSS baseband service provisioning and support mission planning, configuration, traffic engineering, and performance optimization across Telus and iDirect platforms.

Responsibilities:

Service Provisioning

  • Configure modem profiles and service parameters (CIR/MIR, QoS)
  • Support service activation and validation
  • Ensure alignment between terminal and gateway configuration

Mission Planning & Configuration

  • Support RMS planning activities and transmission plans
  • Assist in link budget and service design implementation
  • Configure bandwidth allocation schemes (DAMA, MF-TDMA)

Traffic Engineering & Optimization

  • Support QoS enforcement and traffic routing policies
  • Assist in TCP acceleration and caching optimization
  • Monitor and optimize bandwidth utilization

Operations Support

  • Monitor system KPIs and overall service utilization
  • Troubleshoot issues across baseband and terminals
  • Support NOC for advanced technical issues, SLA
  • Experience with Telus / iDirect platforms
  • Understanding of QoS, CIR/MIR, DVB-S2/S2X, MF-TDMA
  • Basic link budget and troubleshooting skills

Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years in satellite communications
  • Experience in baseband operations or service provisioning

     

  • REQUIRED SKILLS

    • FSS architecture knowledge (UT, payload, RF GW, baseband)
