Overview:

We are looking for a Director, Product Engineering to own engineering outcomes across a portfolio of products or a complex shared platform. You will translate product roadmaps into credible execution plans and ensure teams deliver scalable, reliable software.

 

The role combines portfolio engineering leadership, architecture oversight, delivery accountability, and team development. You will partner with Product, Data & AI, Platform, Security, and Delivery to resolve cross-product dependencies and scale reusable capabilities across enterprise and sovereign environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end engineering outcomes for assigned products or platforms, from roadmap planning to production reliability.
  • Lead Product Engineering Leads and teams; establish clear accountability, coaching, staffing needs, and performance expectations.
  • Translate prioritized product roadmaps into delivery plans, capacity forecasts, milestones, dependencies, and commitments.
  • Set technical direction for architecture, integration, scalability, security, and reuse of shared platform capabilities.
  • Partner with Product leadership to balance scope, sequencing, technical feasibility, and customer outcomes.
  • Drive consistent engineering practices across code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and release governance.
  • Own engineering risks, technical debt, service reliability, critical escalations, and improvement priorities across the portfolio.
  • Resolve cross-product dependencies and make build-versus-reuse and engineering resource-allocation decisions.
  • Measure engineering performance through delivery predictability, DORA metrics, production quality, and reliability.

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading multiple software-engineering teams, products, or a complex shared platform.
  • Strong technical credibility in architecture, distributed systems, APIs, cloud, security, and production engineering.
  • Experience with enterprise products, shared platforms, multi-product integrations, and reusable capabilities.
  • Track record of owning engineering commitments, capacity planning, releases, and production operations.
  • Ability to make sound trade-offs among roadmap scope, delivery speed, architecture, reliability, and technical debt.
  • Experience resolving cross-team dependencies and creating portfolio-level visibility without unnecessary process.
  • Track record building engineering leadership capability, coaching leads, and improving engineering standards.
  • Clear communication with senior product and business stakeholders, engineers, researchers, and delivery teams.

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience shipping AI-powered products, agent platforms, copilots, workflow systems, or developer platforms.
  • Exposure to RAG, AI evaluation, grounding, safety, model observability, latency, or inference cost management.
  • Experience with sovereign, regulated, hybrid, or on-premises deployments.
