Overview:
Inception is looking for a Vice President of Solution Engineering to build, lead, and scale a high-performing team at the intersection of AI innovation and enterprise value delivery. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of the Solution Engineering function, spanning technical pre-sales, business and value consulting, solution architecture, and partner ecosystem enablement. You will report directly to Chief Commercial Officer and be the primary driver of how Inception’s AI products and bespoke solutions are shaped, sold, and delivered across strategic customers and markets.
You will lead a team of Senior Directors, Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, Lead Solution Engineers, and Specialists across both technical, commercial and business consulting tracks. Your role is equal parts people leader, strategic advisor, and practitioner with the ability to engage at C-suite level as well as H.H or H.E ministry level executives of UAE government, while also rolling up your sleeves to shape complex AI solutions.
Responsibilities:
Team & Function Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multi-disciplinary Solution Engineering team of across technical, business consulting, and solution architecture tracks.
- Define the operating model, career frameworks, and capability roadmap for the Solution Engineering function.
- Drive a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and customer outcomes.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Applied Science, and Delivery leadership to align the function with company priorities and revenue goals.
Strategic Pre-Sales & Commercial Impact
- Own the Solution Engineering contribution to revenue opportunity qualification, driving win rates, deal velocity, and pipeline quality across strategic opportunities.
- Lead or oversee executive-level customer engagements, workshops, and solution presentations across target industries (FSI, Retail, Telco, Public Sector, National Security).
- Ensure the team delivers compelling, differentiated responses to RFPs/RFIs, PoCs, and pilot engagements.
- Establish ROI frameworks, value hypotheses, and business case methodologies that connect Inception’s AI capabilities to measurable customer outcomes.
AI Solution Design & Architecture
- Provide senior technical oversight across the full solution design lifecycle, from discovery and AI envisioning through to architecture validation and handover to delivery.
- Set the technical bar for how solutions are designed, covering Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG, ML, Conversational AI, and enterprise data platforms.
- Ensure all proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, secure, and aligned with Inception’s product and platform strategy.
- Drive rapid prototyping and MLP approaches that validate value early and reduce delivery risk.
Partner Ecosystem Enablement
- Own the Solution Engineering team’s contribution to partner qualification and enablement defining how Inception’s AI products are positioned within each partner’s go-to-market.
- Lead technical deep-dives, architecture walkthroughs, and capability workshops with strategic partners to ensure they can effectively represent and extend Inception’s solutions in the market.
- Define value engineering frameworks and ROI models tailored to partner-led opportunities, enabling partners to make a compelling business case for Inception’s AI capabilities in their own customer conversations.
- Build and maintain a library of partner-specific solution briefs, pricing frameworks, and competitive differentiators to accelerate proposal quality and turnaround time.
Practice Building & Operational Excellence
- Build and continuously improve a reusable library of solution blueprints, reference architectures, proposal templates, and pre-sales playbooks.
- Define and track function-level KPIs including win rate, deal velocity, prototype-to-MVP conversion, and customer satisfaction.
- Establish governance and quality standards for solution design, ensuring consistency and rigour across all engagements.
- Represent Inception externally as a thought leader — at customer briefings, industry events, and partner ecosystems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field and a Master’s or MBA.
- 20+ years of experience in solution engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting, or related functions with at least 10 years in a leadership or people management role.
- Proven track record leading pre-sales and solution engineering teams in an AI, cloud, SaaS, or enterprise technology environment.
- Deep understanding of enterprise AI solution design including Generative AI, Agentic AI, ML, RAG, and Conversational AI.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience influencing revenue outcomes, shaping complex deals, and engaging with C-suite stakeholders.
- Experience managing or enabling technology partner relationships, including joint solution development and co-delivery.
- Experience working across multiple industries such as FSI, Retail, Telco, Public Sector, or National Security.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale high-performing, multi-disciplinary technical teams.
Ideally Also Have
- Good understanding of Azure AI platforms, cloud architecture, on-premise and hybrid or air-gapped deployment models.
- Exposure to regulated or government enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with LLMOps, responsible AI frameworks, and enterprise data governance.
- Experience building solution accelerators, reusable frameworks, or centres of excellence.
