Overview:
The SAP Process and Business Analyst serves as the critical link between business stakeholders and SAP technical teams, ensuring that enterprise processes are efficiently designed, standardized, and optimized within the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem.
This role is responsible for analysing business requirements, mapping them to SAP best-practice processes across Acquire to Retire (A2R), Order to Cash (O2C), Plan to Stock (P2S), Procure to Pay (P2P), Project to Profit (P2P), and Record to Report (R2R), preparing Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM), and supporting implementation, testing, and user adoption.
The Analyst plays a key role in identifying process gaps, driving continuous improvement, and enabling AI-ready, data-driven operations across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Project Management functions.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis and Process Design
• Engage with business users to gather, analyze, and document requirements across all functional process domains (A2R, O2C, P2S, P2P, P2P, R2R).
• Review existing ("as-is") process documentation and analyze implemented configurations to identify gaps or optimization opportunities.
• Design future-state ("to-be") processes aligned with SAP S/4HANA and Ariba best practices, ensuring consistency with enterprise governance frameworks.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system requirements for SAP modules and integrated platforms.
• Collaborate with architects to ensure process designs support clean-core, standardization, and automation principles of S/4HANA.
2. System Configuration and Solution Support
• Support the configuration, testing, and validation of SAP processes across Finance (FI/CO), Procurement (MM/Ariba), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Supply Chain (PP, WM).
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop and validate custom enhancements, reports, and integration points.
• Facilitate seamless integration between SAP and external platforms, including tax engines, payroll, analytics, and planning systems.
• Support issue resolution and functional testing to ensure stable, accurate process delivery across modules.
3. Process Optimization and AI Readiness
• Evaluate end-to-end process performance across the six value streams (A2R, O2C, P2S, P2P, P2P², R2R) to identify automation and improvement opportunities.
• Partner with data and digital transformation teams to build AI-ready, predictive, and intelligent workflows using SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, and SAP BTP capabilities.
• Recommend process enhancements that improve cycle time, compliance, and user experience.
• Support the definition and tracking of KPIs for process efficiency and user adoption.
4. Data and Migration Support
• Participate in data mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities during ERP migration and roll-out phases.
• Support the migration of data from legacy platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Coupa) to SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba.
• Validate migrated financial and operational data to ensure accuracy and process continuity.
• Collaborate with data governance teams to maintain master data integrity across all business process areas.
5. Stakeholder Management and Documentation
• Serve as a liaison between business users, SAP technical teams, and implementation partners, ensuring alignment throughout all stages of delivery.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive functional documentation, process maps, SOPs, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), support go-live activities, and assist with post-implementation process stabilization.
• Conduct end-user training and support adoption of new SAP processes and tools.
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Consultant within SAP environments (preferably S/4HANA).
• Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes across the following domains:
• Acquire to Retire (A2R): Asset lifecycle and depreciation management.
• Order to Cash (O2C): Sales, billing, receivables, and revenue recognition.
• Plan to Stock (P2S): Supply chain planning, inventory management, and production.
• Procure to Pay (P2P): Procurement, vendor management, and invoice automation.
• Project to Profit (P2P): Project costing, time booking, and contract billing.
• Record to Report (R2R): Financial consolidation, period close, and reporting.
• Experience with ERP migration or transformation projects (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics to SAP S/4HANA or Coupa to Ariba).
• Familiarity with AI-driven automation, RPA, and analytics enablement within ERP systems.
• Proficiency in SAP BTP, Fiori UI, and integration concepts (API, IDoc, OData).
• Exposure to tax systems, reporting tools, and HRMS/people platforms (e.g., SuccessFactors, Concur) is advantageous.
