Senior Specialist - Business Continuity

Overview:

Support in Designing, Developing, Implementing and Operating the Business Continuity Management Program within G42.

The Group’s business operations cover a wide range of industry verticals including Healthcare, Government, Smart City & Smart Mobility, Oil & Gas, Fintech, Geospatial, Aviation, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics and Sports.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Design & Development

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maturity advancement of the BCMS to ensure full compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Drive the annual Business Continuity Management Plan & Objectives, aligning with Group strategy, risk appetite, and resilience priorities.
  • Act as the Business Continuity Subject Matter Expert (SME), advising senior stakeholders and steering BCM integration in strategic initiatives, critical projects, and major procurements.
  • Guide affiliates and functions on BCMS adoption, integration, and compliance, ensuring consistency and alignment across the Group.
  • Champion the embedding of resilience culture through awareness programs, capability-building, and senior-level engagement.

2. Operational Leadership & Governance

  • Oversee the review, enhancement, and approval of BCM documentation (policies, standards, frameworks, and continuity plans).
  • Lead and represent the organization in internal/external audits and regulatory inspections (ISO 22301, NCEMA 7000, and other compliance reviews).
  • Plan and execute enterprise-level Crisis Management and Business Continuity exercises; produce high-quality reports and actionable recommendations.
  • Govern Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Assessment (RA) activities to maintain an up-to-date, risk-informed continuity posture.
  • Oversee the integration of incident response, emergency management, crisis communication, and business recovery strategies into a single resilient operating model.
  • Monitor and report on BCM risks and readiness metrics to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Drive the standardization of tools, procedures, and templates to ensure consistency in BCM practices across the Group.
  • Provide strategic insight and escalation support during disruptive incidents and crises as part of the Crisis Management Team (CMT).

3 Continual Improvement & Innovation

  • Drive post-audit, post-exercise, and post-incident corrective action programs and ensure lessons learned are embedded into BCM governance.
  • Monitor and benchmark the maturity of the BCM program, recommending and implementing best practices, innovative technologies, and digital tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and disruption trends (e.g., cyber, supply chain, geopolitical) and advise on organizational preparedness.
  • Influence the integration of BCM with ERM, HSE, ESG, and Technology Risk frameworks for a holistic resilience approach.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management, or Operational Resilience, including multi-entity or group-level oversight.
  • Proven leadership in driving ISO 22301 and NCEMA 7000 certifications or equivalent BCM programs at an enterprise scale.
  • Strong governance, risk management, and resilience strategy expertise, with experience advising executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex exercises, risk assessments, and recovery strategies across multiple business units and geographies.
  • Professional certifications required: ISO 22301 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor and CBCI or equivalent (MBCI / DRII certifications preferred).
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Continuity, Cyber Resilience, and Crisis Communications.
  • Experience integrating BCM with ERM, HSE, ESG, or Integrated Management Systems is a plus.
