The G42 AI Function sits at the center of the group’s AI agenda, shaping enterprise-wide AI strategy, priority use cases, partnerships, and investments. It plays a key role in defining where and how G42 builds, partners, or acquires AI capabilities, while ensuring alignment with national priorities, responsible AI principles, and global best practices.

Within this function, the AI Training & Capability Building – Director role leads the design and execution of group-wide AI education, upskilling, and capability-building initiatives. The role works closely with internal AI sub-functions, operating companies, and external partners to develop scalable training programs that build AI literacy, deepen technical and applied capabilities, and support the effective adoption of AI across G42.

Responsibilities:

AI Thought Leadership & Practical Enablement

  • Act as a deep AI subject-matter expert and visionary, translating frontier AI developments into practical, everyday productivity gains for employees.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and teams on how to embed AI into “how work gets done,” not just what people learn.

Training Strategy

  • Define the group-wide AI training and capability-building strategy across G42 and its operating companies.
  • Align learning priorities with G42’s AI strategy and business needs.

Curriculum Design

  • Design tiered AI learning journeys for leadership, technical, and business audiences.
  • Ensure content balances AI literacy, applied use cases, and responsible AI principles.

Program Delivery

  • Oversee delivery of AI training programs through internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure scalability, quality, and consistency across the group. 

HR & L&D Partnership

  • Work closely with Human Resources and Learning & Development teams to embed AI training into existing frameworks.
  • Support integration with talent development, leadership programs, and performance management.

Capability Assessment

  • Assess AI capability gaps across functions and operating companies.
  • Define measurable outcomes and track impact of training initiatives.

Ecosystem Engagement

  • Engage with academic institutions, training providers, and technology partners.
  • Leverage external expertise to enhance program relevance and reach.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, education, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or executive education in AI, digital transformation, learning, or leadership is an advantage.

AI & Digital Expertise

  • Strong understanding of AI, data, and digital technologies, including applied use cases.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into practical learning content for non-technical audiences.

Training Leadership

  • 10+ years of experience leading large-scale training, capability-building, or learning programs.
  • Proven track record designing and scaling enterprise-wide learning initiatives.

HR & L&D Collaboration

  • Experience working closely with HR and Learning & Development functions.
  • Familiarity with learning frameworks, competency models, and talent development processes.

Stakeholder Management

  • Strong ability to engage senior leaders, business units, and external partners.
  • Experience operating in complex, multi-entity organizations.

Global Experience

  • Exposure to international or multi-regional organizations.
  • Comfortable operating across cultures and diverse workforce profiles.
