The opportunity
Project Manager, Core42 – United States. This role will lead the delivery of HPC infrastructure into our newly built data centre and will require significant onsite presence. Main focus will be on driving installation so capacity is available within expected timeframe, ensuring all documentation is available to assist operations in maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the full end to end project management lifecycle (Business Requirements, Design, Planning, Execution and Handover) in line with business expectations on specification, quality, cost and schedule.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans including timelines, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
- Create and maintain up-to-date project documentation, including but not limited to meeting minutes, status reports, RAID logs, change requests and technical documentation
- Proactively manage internal stakeholder expectations and communications including ELT to ensure deliverables are aligned and any deviations to the plan can be appropriately managed
- Proactively monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution of any issues, escalating where appropriate for help and assistance
- Facilitate and lead workshops with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, align deliverables, and track progress.
- Establish, manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers ensuring SOWs are fit for purpose, allowing for performance to be managed and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Work with Solution Architects, Engineers and internal departments such as legal, finance and procurement to facilitate procurement of infrastructure equipment to ensure availability per project schedule
- Oversee installation and commissioning phases, coordinating logistics and on-site activities
- Support onsite testing and remediation activity ensuring product in ready for service
- Ensure agreed handover of infrastructure to operations teams with full documentation and training as required.
- Ensure project is properly closed out from a project management perspective.
Qualifications:
Required skills / qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or advanced certifications are often preferred
- Demonstratable Project Management experience involving Data Centre builds and HPC installation.
- A background in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional)
Preferred skills / qualifications
- Familiarity with the tools and platforms used in AI and HPC environments.
- Ability to navigate and thrive in an unstructured environment
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to motivate and guide cross-functional teams towards project goals.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Analytical thinker with a problem-solving mindset and a hands-on approach
- Collaborative team player with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure components, including power, cooling, compute, networking and Cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and ASHRAE guidelines.
- Experience with Tier 3 data centre design and construction
- Knowledge of HSE and compliance requirements in critical infrastructure environments.
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time role is $155,000 to $210,000, with bonus, LTIP and benefits on top. Salary ranges are set according to the role, level, and location. The range listed on each job posting represents the minimum and maximum target salary for new hires across all U.S. locations. Actual pay within this range will depend on factors such as the specific work location, job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
