The Opportunity

 

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Facilities Manager to oversee the on-site operations of a large-scale, high-density HPC/AI data center campus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient facility operations, coordinating vendor activities, maintaining real-time visibility into critical infrastructure systems, and supporting high-performance compute cluster environments. This position is part-time remote and part-time on premises, with intermittent full-time work on premises at our data center location in Lake Barker, NY

 

Key Responsibilities

 

· Manage and coordinate all on-site operations across the data center campus, including mechanical, electrical, and IT-related activities. 

· Provide oversight and operational control of DCIM platforms and BMS (Building Management Systems) to ensure real-time monitoring, alerting, and environmental management. 

· Supervise and coordinate vendor and contractor activities, including break/fix operations, scheduled maintenance, and site access compliance. 

· Ensure compliance with all physical security policies and access controls, and work closely with security operations personnel. 

· Maintain inventory oversight for all materials and hardware stored or deployed on-site. 

· Act as the primary point of contact for escalated facilities-related issues, and coordinate with engineering, IT, and external service teams as required. 

· Support troubleshooting of physical infrastructure including network cabling, racks, PDUs, and in-row cooling systems. 

· Drive continuous improvement in facility efficiency, reliability, and uptime, with a focus on high-density environments tailored to HPC and AI workloads.

 

Required Qualifications

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Information Technology, or related field (required). 

· Minimum of 5 years of data center operations or facilities management experience. 

· Experience managing or supporting high-density HPC/AI environments is strongly preferred. 

· Familiarity with DCIM and BMS systems, physical networking, and structured cabling standards. 

· Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure service-level compliance. 

· Strong understanding of data center safety, power, cooling, and physical security protocols. 

· Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

· Availability to be on-call for emergency situations and critical infrastructure incidents.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

· Exposure to GPU-based compute clusters and their power/cooling footprint. 

· Knowledge of fiber and copper network cabling troubleshooting at the physical layer. 

· Certifications such as CDCP, DCPRO, or similar are a plus.

 

Compensation & Benefits

 

The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $112,000 in our lowest geographic market to $168,000 in our highest geographic market. The actual base salary will be determined by various factors, including the position’s location, job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and relevant education or training.

 

Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, such as merit-based salary increases, annual bonuses, and long-term incentive plans, which are contingent on individual and company performance. Additionally, some positions offer the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization targets.
