The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Specialist – Data Center Operations to lead and oversee critical data center activities, ensuring the highest levels of uptime, reliability, and operational performance. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will provide technical leadership, manage complex incidents, and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure operations.
Responsibilities:
Data Center Operations & Service Delivery
- Lead day-to-day data center operations, ensuring service excellence and uptime targets are met
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance across MEP and IT systems
- Monitor system health, performance metrics, and operational KPIs
Incident Management & Troubleshooting
- Act as the escalation point for high-priority incidents
- Lead troubleshooting, recovery efforts, and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Implement preventive measures to reduce recurring issues
Vendor & Maintenance Management
- Oversee vendor performance during deployments and maintenance activities
- Ensure adherence to SLAs, quality standards, and operational procedures
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Conduct operational audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain documentation including SOPs, EOPs, and infrastructure layouts
- Ensure alignment with Uptime Institute Tier standards
Continuous Improvement & Strategy
- Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency, automation, and sustainability
- Support capacity planning and risk management activities
- Lead or support change management and operational projects
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and train junior team members
- Collaborate with engineering, NOC, IT, security, and project teams
- Foster a high-performance, safety-focused operational culture
Qualifications:
Required
- 5+ years of experience in data center operations within mission-critical environments
- Strong hands-on expertise across MEP systems and IT infrastructure
- Proven experience managing high-impact incidents and escalations
- Advanced troubleshooting capabilities across electrical, mechanical, network, and server environments
- Experience with ITSM, DCIM, and monitoring platforms
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
- Uptime Institute – Accredited Operations Specialist certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Experience in capacity planning and risk assessment frameworks
- Demonstrated experience driving operational improvements and initiatives
- Leadership experience in mentoring or managing teams
