The Opportunity

The Finance Operations Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the finance department, with a primary focus on General Ledger (GL) accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR). This leadership role ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial records, timely processing of payables and receivables, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The Director provides strategic guidance, process improvements, and analytical support to drive operational efficiency and support business objectives

 

Your key responsibilities

 

General Ledger Accounting

  • Oversee all aspects of GL accounting, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities, and support with year-end audit activities
  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies or variances from budgeted or historical trends.
  • Lead the monthly process with Financial Planning & Analysis for any reconciliation requirements from statutory view to management view
  • Prepare and review periodic financial analyses and reports for management and board review.

Accounts Payable

  • Supervise the AP function to ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports.
  • Monitor and optimize AP workflows, policies, and internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.
  • Internal and external stakeholder relationship management, and resolution for payment or billing issues as needed

Accounts Receivable

  • Supervise the AR function, including billing, collections, and cash application processes.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and implement action plans to improve collections and reduce aged debt.
  • Analyze collection trends and proactively address issues affecting cash flow

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to align financial operations with organizational goals.
