IT Engineer

IT Engineer ( ITOps)
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Engineer to own and scale our internal IT infrastructure and operations. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient IT systems that empower our team to do their best work.
You will manage end-user support, SaaS systems, device lifecycle management, identity and access management (IAM), and security best practices across the organization. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building scalable IT foundations from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
IT Operations & End-User Support
- Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes (device provisioning, access control, account setup)
- Own device lifecycle management (MDM, procurement, configuration, asset tracking)
- Maintain documentation for IT processes, systems, and policies
Identity & Access Management
- Administer SSO, MFA, and role-based access controls
- Manage provisioning/deprovisioning workflows across SaaS tools
- Conduct periodic access reviews and ensure least-privilege principles
Systems & Infrastructure
- Manage and optimize core SaaS stack (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Slack, Notion, Jira, etc.)
- Monitor system performance and uptime
- Support networking infrastructure (VPN, Wi-Fi, firewall configurations where applicable)
- Partner with Security on endpoint protection, patching, and compliance controls
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain endpoint security tools (EDR, MDM, disk encryption)
- Support audit readiness (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
- Enforce IT policies and best practices
- Assist in incident response and root cause analysis
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Own IT procurement processes for hardware, software, and SaaS tools
- Manage vendor relationships, renewals, and licensing agreements
- Track IT budget related to hardware, software subscriptions, and tooling
- Optimize license utilization and SaaS spend
- Partner with Finance and Security on vendor reviews and due diligence
- Maintain accurate asset inventory and cost tracking
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement automation opportunities (e.g., onboarding workflows, device configuration)
- Improve IT processes for scalability and efficiency
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in IT Operations, IT Support, or Systems Administration
- Experience managing SaaS environments and SSO platforms (e.g., Okta, Azure AD)
- Experience managing IT procurement, vendor relationships, and SaaS licensing
- Hands-on experience with MDM tools (e.g., Jamf, Kandji, Intune)
- Strong understanding of endpoint security best practices
- Experience with Mac and Windows environments
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
- Experience supporting compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO, etc.) is a plus
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in a high-growth startup
- Scripting or automation experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with zero-trust security models
- Experience with cloud infrastructure environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience building procurement or asset management processes from scratch
