Overview:
AIQ is looking for a Specialist - Petroleum Production SME to lead the development and deployment of data-driven production optimization solutions by integrating advanced analytics, real-time field data, and physics-based models, while supporting well performance, artificial lift, and digital oilfield initiatives to drive efficiency, cost reduction, and operational excellence across oil and gas assets.
Responsibilities:
- Applies engineering knowledge to develop data-driven algorithms and scalable industrial software solutions.
- Identifies workflow bottlenecks and proposes tool and process improvements across disciplines.
- Contributes to R\&D for next-generation model building, production optimization, and surface/subsurface techniques.
- Integrates real-time field sensor data, dynamic reservoir data, and physics-based models with advanced analytics for resource evaluation and development optimization.
- Conducts studies related to stimulation, production, well design, testing, reservoir flow properties, and fluid behavior, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
- Demonstrates thorough expertise in inflow assurance, completion performance, sand control, well reliability, vertical lift performance, and artificial lift systems.
- Integrates operations systems with full field production delivery and debottlenecking efforts, optimizing well delivery through simulation.
- Provides detailed well programs for interventions and performs operational duties during execution.
- Coordinates and oversees workover activities such as testing, stimulation, coil tubing, and e-line operations in accordance with approved procedures.
- Recommends completion requirements and addresses well integrity, reliability, conformity, and artificial lift needs.
- Identifies opportunities for cost reduction, including “quick wins” and budgeted investment opportunities.
- Recommends ways to improve efficiency by streamlining workflows, automating processes, implementing digital oilfield solutions, and enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
- Identifies software solutions to centralize data, improve asset surveillance, automate alerts and tasks, and enable leaner operations.
- Participates in defining the Scope of Work for tenders and business development activities and translates business objectives into technical requirements.
- Participates in internal and external audits for the department.
Qualifications:
Minimum experience:
- 3 years in Petroleum production optimization/related activities.
- Demonstrated track record of contributions to Digital Oil Field deployments such as IFM, IVM, and IPM in the Middle East.
- Strong background in all Production Optimization aspects, with a focus on subsurface activities at well and field levels.
- Wide expertise in Petroleum Engineering including drilling, completion, stimulation, well testing, workover and ringless activities, artificial lift (especially Gas Lift and ESP), well performance analysis, diagnostic, troubleshooting and optimization.
- Broad and deep engineering understanding of the whole production system (reservoir, wells, networks, plants).
- Knowledge of standard industry software tools (e.g. PVT Sim, Multiflash, Prosper, Pipe Sim, OLGA), knowledge of industry standard enterprise solutions (data management, visualization).
Minimum educational requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Petroleum Engineering.
