Overview:
AIQ is looking for a Product Manager (Drilling Domain) to lead the development of AI-driven products focused on drilling and upstream oil and gas operations. This role requires a strong product leader with hands-on drilling domain expertise who can translate real operational challenges into scalable digital solutions. The Product Manager will own the product roadmap, prioritize features based on operational value, and work closely with customers, engineers, and data scientists to deliver commercially viable products that improve drilling performance and efficiency. The position is highly operational and customer-oriented, requiring deep understanding of upstream workflows and the ability to bridge oilfield operations and product development.
Responsibilities:
- Align product development with company and customer objectives by sketching and refining the product roadmap
- Engage with customer to translate needs into solution concepts and requirements
- Prioritize features according to value, urgency, commercial impact
- Engage with development team to validate their designs and solutions
- Develop new business opportunities by leveraging contacts, pursuing new product development, and improving project efficiency.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of current trends and developments relevant to the field
- Stay ahead of market trends in Artificial Intelligence within Oil and Gas domain and cascade insights to broader team
- Ensure commercial viability of all developed solutions
- Conduct market research through a variety of techniques
- Convert findings into actionable recommendations in written reports or presentations
- Develops department’s operational plans and budget requirements with respect to people, operations, and technology.
- Participate in the development and regular reviews of teamwork and ensures timely completion of activities
- Develop and recommend the appropriate organization structure for the Department to meet the business objectives.
- Responsible for the development of policies, processes, procedures and systems in line with best practices and company Code of Practices.
- Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards.
- Manage Internal and External audits of the department to ensure timely actions and closure of audit recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5-10 years’ experience in product management
- Deep and up to date knowledge of real time data processing software in the Oil and Gas sector (especially upstream and drilling)
- Proven experience in real Time Upstream and Drilling Operations
- Experience and mastery of DrillOps, Logix and Real Time Monitoring and Engineering Solutions
- Communication skills to negotiate effectively with both customers and developers
- Good understanding of AI: what is possible/impossible, what is hard/easy
- Good understanding of Agile Development Process
